TJ is a musician in the DMV area specializing in guitar, bass, and piano. In 2010 he graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelors of Music degree in Jazz Studies and a minor in Music Technology.

TJ performed at venues such as the Kennedy Center, the 9:30 Club, Howard Theatre, the Hamilton, Twins, and others. Other accomplishments include performing at WNBC and on WPFW 89.3, and regularly opening for Parliament Funkadelic.

TJ has maintained a teaching studio for years in the DMV area. His teaching repertoire ranges from beginner to advanced levels, and is curtailed to each individual. He teaches students ranging from young children (four and up) to adults, all varying in experience and skill. Reading music, music theory, learning songs, playing with other musicians and getting students performance/recital ready are a few staples in his curriculum.

Why I Work Well with Kids

I work well with kids because I understand the balance between determination and focus with fun. Music is a medium that allows kids to express themselves in their own unique way, which positively affect them for the rest of their lives. My job as a teacher is to spark this self expression for the student.
